The first week of field has been a little bit unusual... Mostly due to the fact that Shauntelle and I were switched to a new classroom and teacher on Wednesday. There had been a bit of a mix up with where we were assigned to go, so for the first part of the week, we were in the same classroom with Kara and Christy! Everything has been sorted out now and things are starting to run smoothly.
On Monday we teach our first lesson. We each teach separate lessons to a small group of sixth graders (even though we were assigned to fourth graders, which we will still maybe teach... never mind, long story...). I am teaching about the Judicial Branch. I am a bit nervous/overwhelmed, but I think it should be fine.
This week I have come away with the feeling that these fourth graders are much smarter than I am! And I think they just might be! They definitely keep me entertained.

Hey Meg! Just isn't the same without you and Shauntell. I know that we will all learn more by being separated. I am sure you will do awesome next week. That is a tough subject you will be teaching. I think teaching how the government works would be interesting and quite challenging (since I don't even know if the government knows how it's supposed to work - JK). Anyway, you are going to do a great job. The most fantastic thing about working with kids is they are forgiving if you do make mistakes, and we all do. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Meg I can't believe your's and Shauntelle's first week. you guys are awesome. I don't know if this will help probably after your stressful week but I know by going through this you and Shuantelle will be greater teachers.
I'm glad things were taken care of and are running smoother now. Fourth graders are something and I have to agree children are coming to class with more knowledge good luck on teaching about the government.
I feel the same way with the fifth graders we are teaching...they sure know a lot more than I do right now! Hope the rest of your field goes smoothly!
